Fancy eating as a warrior?

I was at Chinatown with some friends and while we were wandering around finding a place to have our dinner, we found this eatery along Mosque Street...

It looks very normal from the outside, though the few tables outside the eatery would have hinted to us what the interior looked like... Its just that we were too busy looking at the pictures of the food to decide between this eatery and the one next door... :p

We chose this one and got a pleasant surprise when we went in... :p

We sat the table 'reserved' for E-Mei Sect (峨嵋派), a martial arts sect usually portrayed as only accepting female members... That was so ironical... gay men sitting under E-Mei's table... LOL!

Right next to us is Hua Shan Sect (华山)... :p

The interior of the eatery was made to look like an ancient martial arts era inn (江湖客栈). It actually looks quite cool... :p

The waitresses dressed like they were in those ancient times and they even had their menus made to look like a martial arts book...

The dishes had funny names named after martial arts styles... Sorry for the out-of-focused pics... But you should still be able to make out the words... :p

We find the menu and the enviornment very appealing and we started ordering...

But we were quite disappointed when the food came

The food tasted bland and 'very vegetarian', with little, if any servings of meat... The best would be these, 大力肉圆, glutinous rice balls with meat and salted egg yolks inside which is 'supposed to increase our internal strength (内功) and thus we were only allowed to order 1 each...

I think I know why... It is the only thing that is good to eat... If they dun restrict, everyone will ONLY oder these balls... But then again, at $1 a ball, they are not cheap...

So, after a disappointing dinner, we left the place, amidst the ancient farewell recited by the waitresses, which sounded cute but we were not in the mood to enjoy after the meal, to look for a more satisfying after-meal... :p

We ended up at Mcs~ *bleh* :p

Try the place for yourself... Not for the food, well, you MIGHT like the food, who knows... But try the place for the atmosphere... I personally think it is kinda cool... :p

Thanks for reading...
