The Mummy 3

Well... Despite my protests, I was still being dragged to watch 'The Mummy 3 Tomb of the Dragon Emperor'...

I had mentioned that I believed that in a curse of the Mummy, brought on by the stupid movie series... But as Little Motivator commented, I should use the opportunity to break the curse...

So... since technically, it is not an Egyptian mummy we are talking about in the movie... Here's wishing that the curse will be broken! :)

Basically this movie is about explorer Rick O'Connell, played by Brendan Fraser again, being tricked to go to China and together with his wife, son and brother-in-law, woke an evil Chinese emperor up from his curse and thus finding it necessary to find a way to stop his evil-take-over-the-world plan...

I must say... Brendan Fraser is not young... But he certainly is too young looking to be the father of well grown up Luke Ford... They look kinda more like brothers with a bigger age gap... Anyway... I never realised that Brendan Fraser has a nice body... Kekeke... There's a scene where he has to go topless... *swoon*... :p

Ok... Enough about the white cast... The Asian cast... Hmm... First thing first... Hollywood should seriously consider paying to have REAL Chinese speaking actors and actresses play roles of the Chinese people... It is really weird that a Chinese watching the movie will have to rely on English subtitles to find out what the supposedly-Chinese-speaking actors or actresses are talking about... Not because the movie goer has a poor command of the Chinese language but because the actors/actresses cannot speak the language... *roll eyes*

The general, Ming... played by ABC Russel Wong dun really get to speak but when he does, he speaks with a terrible slang... And Michelle Yeoh... My goodness... is another one you need to rely on subtitles to find out what she is talking about... Well.. I understand that she had improved... but... Oh... She should have been given credit for this show... Too bad she was never credited... And same thing for Anthony Wong, who played a general plotting to revive the emperor and a very familiar-looking lady who played his faithful sidekick... Asian marketing people should have credited them... They did for Edison Chen's 1 second role in 'The Dark Knight'... :p Why not these?

Anyway... Jet Li's performance for the show is really... err... never mind... :p They could have find someone else to play the emperor... But since fight scenes are needed... Oh well... :p

Overall, I will think it is a watchable movie... Quite entertaining... But please dun bring logic into the theatre... Watch out for a comical scene involving skeletons... That one really brought me laughing loudly for quite a while... kekeke...

Having said that, I certainly hope there will not be a 'Mummy 4' movie... :|
